Avoca Beach… baby!

Last month, before our pregnancy announcement, TJ and I decided to spend a day at one of the most popular beaches in Central Coast, proud of its high waves that caters to surfers and adventure seekers. It’s also a first for TJ to dip in Aussie beach waters so it was pretty exciting! The beach plan was a spur of the moment thing. It was a holiday at the time (day after Australia day), as it was so convenient for us since it’s just a 20- 30 minute drive away from home. We couldn’t help it since the day was bright with such happy clouds above.

It was a beautiful day, with the right amount of sun and breeze with the yellow smooth textured sand. Plus, the company I’m with, my husband and my baby inside my tummy made it all the more a perfect, spectacular day. With our books to finish and a rest we are in dire need of, we just pretty much chilled throughout the day. The only thing we forgot to pack was food! It was a let down for me, as I was having hourly cravings.  XD

Here are some snaps of the day. Big grin for us!

Here are photos of TJ’s dip! Well, he gave up easily because the water was so cold. I tried to join him, but the waves are torrential and I reckoned it wasn’t safe for me as I almost fell.

I also found an opportunity for me to do an early maternity shoot. I was almost 12 weeks at that time, and I was showing a little (fats+hormones+ baby 😀 ). I kind of push it through because the ambience was so good and can’t miss it for bump photos. I trained my husband so well.

We couldn’t complain about the view but we were getting hungry already. We took photos while walking by the shore to find cafes and restaurants. Good thing there were open restaurants despite being a holiday Monday. We headed to Avoca Sands Cafe- Bar. Rated 4.2 stars by Google as of today. I loved their fruit juices!

All in all, I recommend this place for beach thrill seekers. There are many activities to do in here with the family especially with kids. There’s a surfing school offered, also some boating and exploring. There’s so much to see, but because of a pregnant, easily tired me, we didn’t pursue much but just took all the fresh, salty air of the day and it was nothing less than best.

To get here via commute, alight from Gosford station, and take buses number 66A or 66C. It would take an hour to get to the beach but all worth it. If via vehicle, more or less 30 minutes. Always check the weather before planning. I am not recommending it now because there’s week long rain to category 1 cyclones in NSW. To more happy beach days for the preggy person 😀

Hello! I am The Housewife, MD. I started this blog as a safe space for me and for many women who could relate to being a mom, a career woman and an immigrant. From saving lives, to writing about life outside the fast lane, here I go!
