Perfect Beach day at Terrigal

Yellow sand, blue-green sea, bed of clouds and blue skies, it’s like Apple’s wallpaper of the sea foam and sand came to life. That’s what our visit to Terrigal Beach looked like. The havoc of bushfires here in New South Wales is so out of proportion but we were given one good day to enjoy another Central Coast’s rich nature without any smoke hovering over the sky.

My old friends, Arah and Chester visited us here in Central Coast after their Victoria tour and Sydney CBD tour. Of course, I had to show them a place I’m also keen to visit and that’s Terrigal Beach. The place is just less than 30 minutes drive from Gosford Station but also accessible to public transport via Bus at Gosford Station with travel time approximately less than an hour. Then a 7 minute walk more or less will take you to the shore.

Terrigal beach has a vast shore line with the left end being the more quiet part, wherein cozy beach houses reside and where pets enjoy their fetch while the other end being the more vibrant one as the cafes and restaurants line up at the strip. The whole of Terrigal Beach is not accessible to pets so watch out for signs until where pets are permitted.

After stopping for a coffee we decided to head to The Skillion, the best lookout area at Terrigal, where you could see the whole shore. Passing through the shore, we are greeted by a sculpture- like rock formation where we took some of the nicest photos.

It’s a 12 minute walk from the main shore to The Skillion. The terrain was flat so it wasn’t as challenging, but the heat has been picking up as we walk toward the lookout area. One staple advice is to keep hydrated and sun protected because a balanced and cooperative weather is not a promise at the Coast. 😀

Reaching the lookout area of the Skillion compensated the not so easy walk we did. There’s always a tranquil beauty whenever you see the expanse of a shore, the waves and the sound it produces. That’s what we experienced, or at least I did. It’s such a breath taking view, and for me it’s a good decision to see this place to escape the hustle and bustle.

After relishing the view from up, we explored more below of the Skillion lookout and to our surprise we saw picturesque vantage of what’s below.

The bench on this place is so inviting to read a book, or to meditate, and be with your pet/s. Across this view is a wide lawn where pets enjoy goofing around with potty wrap stations so that owners can pick after their pets.

I would say with confidence that Terrigal is a lovely suburb and everything you need for a simple, quiet life is here. To visit such place with friends made such an experience. I hope to be back again with my husband because as you know, I’m becoming a tour guide and I had to leave the hubby behind! 😀

Hello! I am The Housewife, MD. I started this blog as a safe space for me and for many women who could relate to being a mom, a career woman and an immigrant. Coming from a very fast paced kind of work in the healthcare system, during my slow down, I would like to let my literary side to steam off a little through this. From saving lives, to writing about life outside the fast lane, here I go!
